Why didn't Spike end up with a Significant Other?
Hello there fellow Bronies, Any of you who still remain on DA after all this time. I don’t know if any of my watchers remain, but I haven’t posted anything in about half a decade. The last thing I posted was the hopes and expectations for season five of My Little Pony. Honest, I intended to post a review of the season when the season was finished, but never finished a satisfactory note. Then season six came and went, as did seven, eight, and nine, and the My Little Pony feature movie. I never left the fandom, as many of my real friends more or less did. However for the past five years I have been working on a PHD degree, swamped with academic papers, lectures, and conferences, and unfortunately I couldn’t seem to make time for my beloved DeviantArt account. Whether you've loved the shipping, been against it, don't care for it, or aren't into shipping in general, it's been hard to avoid it. It's been pretty much the one shipping to start it all. Regardless of your feelings about shipping, there's no doubt that Sparity has had a major impact on it. In fact, today it's still considered the most popular shipping between Spike and Rarity.
In the second season,

If you've been a long time watcher of me, you know that Spike has pretty much been my favorite character in FiM. While his episodes have had a reputation for being mediocre at best, that has since changed after the disaster of Princess Spike. His episodes have now gotten better, he's being used more and contributes a lot more, and he's had some character development. He's definitely much better handled than how the show started up until season 5.
Molt Down though offers something we never thought we'd see in a Spike episode. In a big surprise, this episode does s
